Portugal is the country with the best business environment in Southern Europe, according to the “Startup Ecosystem Awards 2024”, a global ranking promoted by the StartupBlink platform – internationally recognized for its analysis of innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystems.
In this report, which evaluates the performance of 100 countries and more than 1,000 cities based on the quality, quantity and environment of support for startups, Portugal comes out on top in the southern European region, beating countries like Spain, Italy and Greece. The ranking took into account indicators such as the number of active startups, the presence of technological hubs, public policies to support entrepreneurship, attractiveness for foreign investment, among others.
Lisbon and Porto are strategic hubs for innovation, but the growth of new projects in other cities is evidence of an increasingly cohesive and decentralized national dynamic.
This recognition reinforces Portugal’s position as a destination of excellence for entrepreneurs, investors and companies looking to develop technological solutions and businesses with a global reach.
