Lisbon and Algarve Among the Most Attractive Destinations for Digital Nomads

Lisbon ranks 5th in the Savills Executive Nomad Index 2025, reaffirming its position as one of the world’s most attractive cities for digital nomads. The Algarve appears in 10th place out of 30 destinations evaluated, further highlighting Portugal’s strong presence in this international ranking.

The study values factors such as quality of life, climate, connectivity, and the housing market. Lisbon remains in the global top five thanks to its safety, cultural and technological diversity, and its expanding network of flexible workspaces.

The Algarve, in turn, strengthens its reputation as one of Europe’s most appealing regions for digital nomads. Its high quality of life, affordable cost of living, outstanding beaches, and proximity to international hubs make it a natural choice for those seeking to balance work and leisure.

A concrete example of this dynamic is the growth of coworking spaces in the region. In Lagos, CoLagos – awarded for three consecutive years as the best coworking space in Faro district by the Cinco Estrelas Regiões prize – has become a hub for freelancers, entrepreneurs, and digital nomads looking for a collaborative environment in the city’s historic center. Strong demand has recently led to the opening of a second space in Barão de São João, further boosting the region’s appeal to the global community of remote workers.

This international recognition confirms Portugal as one of the top destinations for digital nomads, offering not only quality of life but also innovative infrastructures and a community increasingly open to remote and collaborative work.
