On June 20th, the Municipality of Lagos, in partnership with the (A)Garra Association, officially inaugurated a Coworking Space in Barão de São João — an extension of the CoLagos – Municipal Coworking Space project. Located within the facilities of the Parish Union of Bensafrim and Barão de São João, this new infrastructure marks an important step in the Municipality’s commitment to entrepreneurship, territorial cohesion, and strengthening community dynamics beyond the urban centre.
The opening event welcomed representatives from the Municipality, (A)Garra, and Algarve STP, as well as local entrepreneurs, professionals, and digital nomads. Everyone highlighted the positive energy and sense of community that was felt throughout the day.
The new coworking space is equipped to support remote workers, freelancers, and startups, becoming an essential hub for those who wish to work close to nature without losing connectivity or social interaction. This space stands as a concrete support for local development, creating growth opportunities for professionals and businesses in low-density areas. The goal is to position Lagos as a region of innovation, inclusion, and proximity — where it is possible to live and work to the fullest, even outside major urban centres.
